* Zoya is dozing in her lab Monday morning. Her hair - turned bright blue during the demon battle a few days ago - has faded to a pale robin's-egg shade. She wakes with a start and looks around frantically, then reaches into a pocket of air nearby and pulls out a thin scroll of parchment.
* Zoya unrolls the parchment with trembling fingers, then sighs with relief as she reads its message: "Zoya - Wedding could not wait. Pick up anyone who can make it in time for a noon wedding in Khymrych. Love, -K"
<Zoya> ::sighs:: Noon? ::she pushes back the heavy curtains over the window and looks at the sun's position:: Damn it, Kev, you couldn't send the message *last* night? ::she races for her rooms to change::
<Zoya> ::In short order, Zoya - dressed in her full shimmering High Priestess regalia, her hair tucked up in a simple twist - knocks on the door to Lisl's cottage at Ellesmere::
* Lisl opens the door almost as soon as Zoya's knuckles brush the wood, dressed in her hunting suedes, bowstaff in hand. "Zoya? What brings you out?" She glances up at the sun. "It's not evening yet."
<Lisl> ::blinks at Zoya's get-up:: Trouble?
<Zoya> ::grins:: Of a sort. Kevil and Loria are getting married. In about.. ::she glances up:: three hours. Get dressed; we're going. ::she grins wider:: I know Aldis isn't here to make you wear a dress, but do *try* not to embarrass her.
<Lisl> ::blinks:: *Three hours*? What in the hells possessed them to-- ::growls:: Gods above and below, that man... give me a moment. Mother tucked that chainmail thing away somewhere... ::mutters:: Least it doesn't wrinkle... or rust... ::stalks into her bedroom, leaving the door open::
<Zoya> I'm going to round up Tyl. Meet me back at the Tower in about an hour or so... ::she glances back at Ellesmere's main house and snaps her fingers:: You might want to find out if Temire wants to go, too. Now that Xarroch's back and Cheylon's been safely born, she might want to join Kevil and the others looking for Tarri.
* Lisl pauses, looking over her shoulder at Zoya, eyes pained. "Aye. I'll tell her."
<Zoya> ::nods, then heads out for Tyl'gania's estate with as much of a rush as her dress robes will allow::
* Lisl leaves off her search for her dress to head over to the main house, letting herself in. "Temire? You in, lass?"
* Temire calls from her room, "Up here Lisl."
* Lisl heads up the stairs and pokes her head in Temire's door. "Just had word from Zoya. Loria and Kevil have gotten a wild hair and decided to tie the knot *today.* Noon. Three hours, give or take. Zoya will give us a lift there, if you want to go.
<Lisl> ::eyes the array of bags and equipment strewn over Temire's room:: Nach told you.
* Temire looks up from packing a backpack, dressed in her adventuring clothes, "Married?!? Tarri's been kidnapped and they're stopping to get married?!?"
<Lisl> ::presses her lips together:: Don't kill the messenger. I don't know what's possessed them. ::winces a little:: Sorry, bad turn of phrase. But yes. Three hours. ::glances around the room again:: If you can finish packing in time, you'll have a lift, if you don't mind losing breakfast at the end of it.
* Zoya knocks on Tyl's door with a rapid staccato.
* Tyl elbows Jacques out of the way. The older elf looks down with a mildly annoyed sniff and stalks away. "Zoya!"
* Temire nods, "I'll be finished packing by then. Getting suitably dressed for a wedding is a different matter though."
* Zoya grins at Tyl. "You *are* feeling better. Want to come along on a trip?"
<Lisl> ::rolls her eyes:: It's practically an elopement girl, not a royal wedding. Just wear something with skirts that's not too low-cut. ::mutters:: Even *I've* got a dress... if I can find it...
* Temire grins, "I'm afraid I don't have anything in pink and lace for you to borrow."
* Lisl growls. "Just get dressed. We're meeting at the Tower soon as we can."
* Temire chuckles and returns to her packing, "I'll be there even if I have to run through peoples walls to get there in time."
<Lisl> ::mutters as she stalks back down the stairs:: Get enough of that from *Xarroch*... that girl needs new role models, I swear...
* Lisl returns to the cottage to recommence her rummaging, to the accompaniment of curses in several languages.
<Tyl> I am feeling better, thank you. Where are we going? I'm about to die of boredom. Too many tulips, I think.
<Zoya> ::laughs:: Kevil and Loria have decided, apparently, that they can't enter into mortal danger until they're properly wed. Get dressed and come with us.
<Tyl> ::shakes her head, mildly astonished:: Well.... yeah, I suppose I can... no, never mind, it doesn't make any sense. No worries. I'll pop over to the tower after I dig out something to wear?
* Temire hurriedly finishes her packing, then rushes through a bath before returning to her room and getting dressed for a wedding.
<Zoya> ::nods:: As soon as you can. The wedding's at noon.
<Tyl> ::laughs:: Nothing like timely notice or anything. And that's just what this is... NOTHING like timely notice.
<Zoya> ::snorts:: I know... I *must* remember to have a word or two with Kevil on the side... Anyway, I'll leave you to it. ::she grins and waves before heading back to the Tower::
* Lisl eventually finds and hauls the blue suede undergown over her head and unrolls the light elven chain dress from its carrysack, shrugging into it and lacing up the sides, muttering. "Dammit, Mother... sometimes you know me too well..."
* Lisl hunts around in vain for slippers and finally gives up on them, lacing up a pair of grey suede boots. "Not like anyone will be looking at me anyway..."
<Tyl> ::heading back into the mansion, she starts calling orders to her staff:: Damn it, Jel... you have the worst timing of any three people I ever met.
* Zoya makes several other stops on her way back to the Tower, but finds no more friends at home or able to leave on short notice. She shrugs and leans against the Tower's door (which has draped itself in flowers and streamers for the occasion) to wait for the others.
* Lisl heads back to the main house, sitting on the porch to await Temire's pretty-making.
* Temire puts on the dress she bought in Sembia. The top is black silk, backless and sleeveless, blending into black lace around the waist which then blends into a blue velvet dress. Temire puts her hair up with the ornamental chopsticks Roni got her, leaving the white lock to hang loose, then puts on Nacheyla's holy symbol and finally grabs a pair of black dancing shoes, dropping them in the top of her pack.
* Temire rummages in her wardrobe, pulling out a sky blue cape she puts on before grabbing her pack and her sword and heading downstairs.
* Lisl sits on the edge of the porch, swinging her heels to the faint chiming of her gown's skirt, almost but not quite twiddling her thumbs.
<Temire> Alright Lisl, I'm ready as I'm ever going to be on this short of notice.
<Lisl> ::snorts:: Right. Got your adventuring kit? Need a hand carrying anything?
* Temire chuckles, "I don't remember that dress. When did you get it?"
* Temire hefts her pack, "If that dress is as durable as it looks could you carry this. The sword's light enough, but I loaded this pack on the assumption I'd be wearing a shirt, not a dress."
<Lisl> Same place I get all my dresses. My mother. ::in a dry tone:: She knew bloody well that if she could get me to wear *anything* feminine, it would be elven chain. ::eyes Temire:: Note the distinct *lack* of pink. Or lace. I am *not* Jaret.
<Lisl> ::nods:: Not a problem. ::takes the pack and shoulders it easily::
* Temire chuckles, "I don't think I've ever seen him wear pink."
<Tyl> ::sifts through a wardrobe that would make even Kevil envious, although she seldom wears any of it around her friends:: Ah... let's see... here we go. ::she pulls out a gown of deep green and holds it up under her chin.::
<Lisl> Well, you'd never catch him *calling* it "pink," more like "salmon" or "rose" but-- ::shakes her head:: Let's go. Zoya will be spitting butterflies by now.
* Temire looks up at the sky, "Think we can make it there in time?"
<Tyl> ::dressing quickly, she combs her hair on top of her head and fastens it in place with an emerald and diamond comb that would be tacky if they weren't real gems - nah, never mind, it is tacky... pretty, tho::
<Lisl> Of course we can. If we were late, I'd already have come up to your room and hauled you out over my shoulder. Now come *on* already! ::sets off down the drive at a ground-eating lope::
* Temire chuckles and follows Lisl, doing her best to keep up with Lisl's lope.
<Tyl> ::shuffles through her things and puts on a pair of earings and matching necklace:: Ok... you're lovely. Unaccompanied by husband, but lovely. Let's go. ::she closes her eyes for a moment and fades out, to reappear a few seconds later just outside the Tower::
<Zoya> ::grins at Tyl as she appears:: Show-off. Are you going to go to Khymrych under your own power, too?
<Tyl> ::grins:: Never been there.
<Zoya> Ah, well... ::she grins:: I'm sure you've heard from Jel about my awful teleports. I hope you haven't just eaten.
<Tyl> ::thoughtfully:: If you want to give me the visualization, I can take us? I'd hate to throw up in this. Very undignified.
<Zoya> If you can carry four without too much trouble, certainly. ::she removes an opal ring from her right hand, dropping her magical anti-psionic shields::
* Lisl fetches up at the front steps of the Tower perhaps fifteen minutes behind Tyl.
* Temire follows Lisl, looking a little tired from the hurried trip.
<Tyl> I've done almost nothing for months. I'm quite "juiced up" as the students have taken to calling it. ::she reaches out, touching Zoya's forehead with her fingertips::
* Zoya concentrates, her thoughts clean and clear as always, giving Tyl a mental image of a spot not far outside Khymrych's actual borders which makes a good teleport landing site.
* Temire smiles brightly as she sees Tyl, but waits for Tyl to finish.
<Tyl> ::nodding:: Got it.
<Zoya> ::grins at Lisl as Tyl drops her fingers:: You're in luck, Lisl. You don't have to suffer my ride after all.
* Lisl raises an eyebrow, watching her friends, and grins at Zoya's statement. "Thank Aerdrie!"
* Temire hugs Tyl, "Tyl! I didn't know you were back!"
<Tyl> ::grins:: I wasn't keeping it a secret. But I saw your file. Did you have a nice trip?
* Temire shakes her head smiling, "Which one?"
<Lisl> ::mutters, running her hand through her hair:: Could've sworn I mentioned it... hunh. Ah, well."
<Tyl> ::resisting the urge to mess up Temire's hair:: I think you've grown some... you humans get unbelievably overtall.
<Lisl> ::grins at Tyl:: Easier to cut them off at the knees.
* Zoya glances up at the sun's position. "Can we catch up in Khymrych?"
* Temire grins at Tyl, letting her go, "Well we have to do something with our pathetically short lives."
* Temire smiles, "Sorry Zoya. It'll keep."
* Tyl laughs. "Right... " She closes her eyes, concentrating for a brief moment, and when she opens them, they're standing just outside the small town.
<Lisl> ::sighs happily:: Now that's what I call a teleport...
<Zoya> ::grins at Lisl:: Where's the adventure in *that*?
<Lisl> Losing your lunch isn't an adventure. *Chasing* it is.
* Temire blinks and looks around, "I don't think I'll ever get used to that."
<Tyl> ::nodding:: There are definitely worse ways to travel. Horseback, for instance.
<Zoya> ::grins and starts walking toward the town:: Come on; let's see if we're late enough to be rude or early enough to get in the way.
<Tyl> ::looking curiously at Zoya:: So, what happened to your hair *this* time?
* Temire follows Zoya, walking along side tyl.
<Zoya> ::shrugs:: Surge. ::she grins at Tyl:: You should have seen it when it first happened. I looked like a lopsided bluebell.
* Lisl grins, falling in on Zoya's other side.
<Zoya> Surges are innately attracted to hair, I think... More surges happen to my hair... ::she grins:: Chaos mages don't get vain about their hair much.
<Lisl> ::chuckles:: Or Erdian just likes messing with girls' hair...
<Zoya> ::laughs:: I understand he was a bit of a rogue that way, too... But my hair was purple long before I'd ever *heard* of him - Lord Erdian turned my hair *white*.
* Temire shakes her head, "Remind me to make certain Ilya stays away from the Tower then. I don't even want to think about the hysterics she had when her hair got cut off."
<Tyl> ::snorts, covering her mouth:: Could be worse. Merrivale once... ::she giggles, laughing too hard to actually tell the story::
<Lisl> ::grins:: Naaah, Erdian was just a bit of a rogue, period.
<Lotho> ::A dark-haired halfling with cheerful brown eyes is waiting by the town gates. He greets them with a bow.:: Mistress Zoya?
<Zoya> ::nods:: That's me.
<Lisl> ::grins:: Kevil gave you the landmarks, ay?
<Lotho> ::laughs:: You fit the description, Mistress - though he might've mentioned the blue hair... ::he bows again, to all of them:: Kevil asked me to escort you all in, if you don't mind.
<Zoya> ::chuckles:: The blue is new, or I'm sure he would've.
<Lotho> ::waves them through:: Follow me, then... ::he grins:: The sooner we can get them tied off, the sooner we can get to the feasting!
<Lisl> ::chuckles, muttering under her breath:: Spoken like a true halfling...
<Tyl> ::shakes her head:: Halflings are the same the world 'round, I guess. He sounds just like Codex.
* Temire chuckles softly, "Didn't your friend say that at Gloss's wedding?"
<Lotho> ::glances back, a twinkle in his eyes:: Ah, but I *am* a true halfling, Mistress, at least as far back as I know...
<Tyl> ::grinning at Temire:: He said it at *my* wedding, too.
* Temire giggles, "Didn't he officiate your wedding?"
<Lisl> ::dryly:: Now you know why halflings officiate at most elopements...
<Zoya> * Lotho leads the group into the village toward an open, park-like area, hastily decorated with flowers and bright garlands. A neat altar is set up at one end of the square, tidy rows of chairs set over most of the rest. It seems most of the village has turned out for the event.
<Vallel> ::his arm bound up to his chest, wearing a simple, but nice outfit of mostly browns and greys, practically runs over:: Mistress Tyl? ::he looks at her for a long moment, then very gently puts one arm around his teacher, embracing her. When he lets her go, tears glimmer in his eyes::
* Temire surveys the area and opens her mouth to say something before thinking better of it.
<Kevil> ::Near the altar, talking calmly with Kristo, Finn, and Master Greyson, is Kevil. He is dressed in elegant navy blue, elaborately embroidered in strands of silver. His slightly curly hair hangs loose to his shoulders.::
<Lisl> ::looks around, a momentary sadness in her eyes as she surveys the village:: Better than last time... ::looks at Vallel, and blinks, face paling:: When... when did that happen, Val?
* Temire grins at Val, "Nice to see you too Val."
<Vallel> ::scuffs his foot on the ground, not meeting Lisl's eyes:: Stupid accident. Don't ask questions I don't want to answer, please. ::gives Temire a brief squeeze:: You look lovely, Temire.
<Tyl> ::touching Vallel's face lightly:: Thank you. For everything.
* Lisl nods slowly, her expression still bemused, and glances around for Gloss.
* Temire returns Val's hug, "It's alright. I did the same thing when I saw her."
<Raven> ::Spots Lotho with the others, and walks over to join them. The half-elven ranger is dressed in a lovely burgundy and blue gown, but her wide dark eyes are more sad than happy.::
* Glossaria comes up to the little group, sliding her arm around Vallel's waist and leaning her head on his shoulder. "Greetings, Mistress. Hello, Tyl, hello, Temire, Lisl."
* Lisl blinks at the sight of Gloss in a pale green gown. "Hells... first time for everything..."
<Zoya> * Raven touches Lisl's arm gingerly. "Mistress Lisl?"
<Temire> Hello Gloss.
* Lisl looks around at Raven's touch. "Yes? Raven, isn't it?"
<Raven> ::nods:: Yes... Loria asked if you would be willing to stand with her... If you agree, I'm to take you to her. ::she smiles sadly::
* Loria is just finished dressing inside the d'Nache house, somewhat surprisingly being assisted by both her older sisters. Bess, red-rimmed around the eyes from grief over Polla's disappearance, is braiding Loria's hair wordlessly.
<Lisl> ::blinks, frowning a little at Raven's expression:: Is everything alright? She giving me your place, or something?
* Temire looks to Val and Gloss, "Is there someplace I can put my things? I was packing to catch up with you all and look for Tarri when I found out about the wedding."
<Raven> ::eyes widening:: Oh, no! I'm just... ::she glances back toward the altar where her husband is and makes a rueful face as her soft voice drops even lower:: ...in a bit of a family crisis. I shouldn't let my problems cloud their brightness, though... ::she sighs and looks back up:: Shall I take you?
<Vallel> ::nodding:: Come on. I'll show you the temple. We're all staying there.
<Glossaria> Ah... ::glances at Vallel:: Another fighter will be useful.
<Vallel> ::gives Gloss a *very* sour look:: I said I was sorry about eight times now, love. Let it rest, ok? Please?
* Temire gets her pack from Lisl and follows Vallel and Gloss.
<Glossaria> ::ducks her head, putting a hand on Val's good arm:: I'm sorry, love... ::lowering her voice:: I'd meant Kristo...
* Temire looks between Val and Gloss, "Umm...I don't mean to be rude, but what does Val have to do with needing another fighter?"
<Lisl> Family-- ::her expression closing:: A lot of that going around... you're right, I'd best not know. ::nods:: Lead on.
<Glossaria> ::bites her lip, glancing at her husband:: Just that he's... temporarily disabled.
<Raven> ::nods and leads Lisl across the square and to the d'Nache home. She knocks softly before opening the door:: Loria? Your friends have arrived from Marsember. I brought Lisl.
<Vallel> ::expands his sour look to include Temire:: I'm not entirely useless, most of the time, you know. ::with a huff, he leads Temire back to the temple and shows her to a small, neatly furnished room::
* Loria looks up at Lisl. Her oldest sister is pinning an elaborate braid onto her head and setting it with small pink wild roses. "Lisl! I'm so glad you could come."
* Temire puts her pack and sword down, "I know Val. Hells, you'd be a better psionic than me if I was ten times better than I am. It's just...I'm sorry."
* Zoya looks around, then heads over to greet Kevil. She gives him a warm hug, then greets Kristo, Finn, and Master Greyson with a smile.
<Vallel> ::sighs:: It's not you, Mira... I just... after everything that's happened, you'd think that I'd be less susceptible to suggestion... stupid Book.
<Lisl> ::smiles at Loria:: Glad to be here. I know I said I'd be happy to stand up for you anytime, Loria, but did you *really* have to put it to the test? ::grins::
* Temire fishes her shoes out of pack and changes into them.
<Zoya> * Lotho walks over to grab Finn's sleeve. "Come and take a seat, Finn, so we can get this show on the road. Those berry pies're waiting."
* Temire looks at Val, "You can tell me about it later. For now let's occupy ourselves with the wedding and catching up with Tyl."
<Vallel> ::nodding:: I'm standing up with Kevil, as soon as Loria gets done doing whatever it is girls do before they get married. The less *I* know about it, the better.
<Glossaria> ::smiles:: That's traditional too, dear.
<Finn> ::grins, though perhaps with a little less of his usual verve:: Oh, aye! ::he nods to Kevil and Kristo, and follows Lotho toward the chairs.::
* Temire chuckles, then stands, "Alright, I'm ready."
* Loria smiles somewhat sadly. "Sorry, Lisl. Things happened faster then I meant them to. But... I don't know, I just didn't want to risk it. Being yet unwed if I..." She shakes her head. "Never mind. Bad thoughts."
* Zoya looks at Kevil critically, then smiles mysteriously and fishes in her sleeve, pulling out a trio of pale yellow roses. "Here. I thought you might want these."
<Tyl> ::finds herself a seat, looking around with a slightly nostalgic smile::
<Kevil> ::goggles briefly, then laughs:: Zoya, you... ::he laughs again:: Thank you.
<Vallel> ::heads back into the village square, pausing just a moment to bow to the statue of Nacheyla::
<Lisl> ::nods, her eyes pained:: I understand. Just... let's focus on what you're doing today, not why you're doing it so quickly, aye?
<Loria> ::nods:: My sisters... Bess and Winsra. This is my best friend, Lisl.
* Temire follows Val, waving at the statue rather than bowing, then rather determinedly heading for a seat next to Tyl.
<Zoya> ::grins and pulls a pin from her sleeve as well, carefully arranging two of the roses on his lapel:: As long as we've known each other, Kevil Talarin, I'd think you'd know me better.
<Bess> ::wipes her eyes on her sleeve at the word sister::
<Winnie> ::gives Bess a quick hug:: Nice to meet you, Lisl.
* Lisl grins, risking hairdresser wrath to slip an arm around Loria's shoulders and hug her briefly, nodding at her sisters. "Good to meet you."
* Loria stands up, looking at herself in the mirror briefly. "Well... I guess I'm ready... " She takes a few deep, shuddering breaths.
* Kevil takes the third rose from Zoya's hand and slips its longer stem through the sash at his waist. "I should, Zoya." He leans over and kisses her cheek, brotherly. "Thank you."
* Glossaria smiles and accompanies her husband, smiling to the statue and taking a seat on his far side.
* Zoya smiles, then goes to take her seat as well.
<Lisl> ::smiles:: You're beautiful, Loria.
* Glossaria covertly pulls out a notebook and scribbles.
<Vallel> ::grins at his wife:: You'd better go, love. Loria will be wondering where you are.
* Kevil looks around at the people taking their seats, then looks at Kristo. "Places, now?"
<Kristo> ::nods cautiously:: Yes, I think so... ::He follows Kevil up toward the altar to wait with him and Saint Greyson::
<Bess> ::laying her hand on Loria's arm:: You are. I'm... best wishes, really. Lori. ::she gives her sister a quick, but fierce hug:: Sorry, about everything. ::without another word, Bess leaves the room to go sit with her father in the village square::
<Glossaria> ::blinks:: Oh! They're starting already? ::hurriedly tucks away her notebook with a faintly guilty expression, twisting up the length of her hair and pinning it into place almost absently with her pencil as she rises to head to the altar::
<Vallel> ::gets up and stands with Kristo, his eyes faintly worried as he looks at his older brother::
* Lisl watches after Bess with a faintly puzzled frown. "Thought she..." She shakes her head. "Never mind."
* Loria stops, frozen with surprise, her blue eyes welling up with tears. She blinks rapidly several times, then smiles at Lisl. "Come on, let's go."
<Greyson> ::looking fond and stern at the same time, wearing shimmering robes of gold, the embroidery around his sleeves and hems a complicated array of all the Line colors::
* Lisl looks over Loria critically, and pulls a clean kerchief from her sleeve with a grin. "Here, no crying *before* the wedding. You can borrow this 'til after."
* Loria nods, wiping her eyes.
* Kevil stands by the altar, waiting without the slightest sign of nervousness or tension.
* Loria walks out of the house, headed towards the square with a slow, dignified pace. She pauses behind some screens, placed there for the occasion. She pulls her veil down over her face.
* Glossaria joins the group of women behind the screens, taking up a place behind Lisl.
<Rostell> ::pats Bess on the shoulder once as she arrives, then heads over to the screen. He is wearing very plain, grey clothing and looks mildly uncomfortable:: Ye ready, Loria? ::he offers his daughter his arm::
* Loria nods, slipping her arm into her father's. "Yes, Da'."
<Greyson> ::nodding, he signals the bride's party::
* Loria walks down the middle of the village square on her father's arm. Her gown is simple, almost austere, a shimmering white silk lined with silver threads and a simple row of seed pearls around the neck. The gown has short sleeves, a simple rounded neck, and falls straight to her feet, a thin silver cord bound above her waist. She has a thin veil over her face.
* Kevil watches Loria's approach, his heart in his eyes and a kind of wondering joy lighting his face.
<Greyson> ::opening his book, he places it on the altar as Loria approached:: We are to bear witness today to the binding of heart and hands between Loria d'Nache, ninth generation in the line of Polaron and her intended, Kevil Talarin.
<Greyson> ::looking at Loria and Rostell:: And who speaks for this woman's line, giving her, with joy and honor, to the man she has chosen to stand beside?
* Glossaria stands quietly beside Lisl, face rapt as she drinks in the words of the ceremony.
<Rostell> ::clearing his throat:: Her mother, Myralynn of Suzail and I, Rostell d'Nache, eighth generation of the line of Polaron, give our daughter freely to this man, Kevil Talarin.
* Rostell turns to his daughter, lifting her veil and kissing her lightly on the forehead. "Go with the Mother's blessing, daughter." He turns and takes his seat next to Myralynn.
* Lisl relaxes ever so slightly.
* Loria takes the few additional steps necessary to bring her to Kevil's side. Her walk is slightly exaggerated, proud and determined. She stands next to Kevil, then curtseys low to Greyson.
<Greyson> You stand here together to declare yourselves and your love to each other, to bind hands and hearts in the Mother's name, and in the name of your love. Do you freely enter into marriage with this man, Loria?
* Loria smiles at Kevil, her dark blue eyes shining. "I enter this marriage freely, of the choosing of my heart."
<Greyson> ::turning to Kevil:: Do you enter freely into marriage with this Child of the Blessed Mother, Kevil?
* Kevil looks into Loria's eyes, his voice carrying and resonant with feeling. "I enter freely, at the demand of none save my own heart."
<Greyson> ::turning a page in his book:: The Blessed Mother's greatest gift to the world has been Her Children. May this union be a further blessing to Her and to you both. The rings, the symbol of two become one, the circle of love and devotion, are exchanged, along with vows from the heart. ::he holds out his hand and Vallel easily steps forward to drop two simple rings in his palm::
<Greyson> ::to Kevil:: Take this ring, a symbol of your love, and slide it on your bride's finger.
* Kevil takes his gaze from Loria's face only long enough to pick up her ring. He lifts her hand and gently slides the ring over her finger.
<Greyson> The words of love are only from the heart. Do you vow to love this woman, through all life's adversities, until death separates you from one another?
<Kevil> Until the end of my days, she is in my heart.
* Lisl turns her head away slightly, her eyes glimmering with gold.
<Greyson> ::smiles at Loria:: Take up his ring, the symbol of your love, Child of Nacheyla, and place it on the finger of your groom.
* Loria takes up the other ring, smiling, and slides it on Kevil's finger.
<Greyson> The words of love are only from the heart. Do you vow to love this man, through all life's adversities, until death separates you from one another?
<Loria> With all my heart, I so vow.
<Greyson> ::shuts the book gently:: Then in the name of Nacheyla duRosten, the Blessed Mother, our ancestress and goddess, I bless this union, and you both. You are now husband and wife.
<Greyson> ::adding in a sly undertone, in case they missed this bit:: You can kiss her now, if you want.
* Lisl bites back a grin.
* Kevil glances at Greyson, his eyes twinkling, then pulls Loria into his arms, kissing her first gently - little more than a brush of their lips - and then with lingering feeling.
* Glossaria takes a somewhat ink-stained hanky from her pocket, dabbing away tears.
* Loria wraps her arms around her husband's neck, returning his kiss with enthusiasm.
* Temire smiles as Kevil and Loria kiss.
* Lisl grins wider as the kiss continues, and starts to applaud.
* Loria smiles up at Kevil as she steps back. {Dih shavalin, nis shalis.}
* Kevil brushes Loria's cheek with his fingertips, smiling tenderly. "I love you, Loria, with all my heart." He twines his fingers with hers and leads her away from the altar and back across the square.
* Glossaria blows her nose softly, leaning forward slightly to peek at Vallel.
<Greyson> ::smiles to himself, then turns to look at a faint shimmer in the air behind him. He bows with respect and love to the shimmer, then heads into the square::
<Zoya> * Finn and Lotho join in the general applause, Lotho whistling sharply.
<Bess> ::sighs, looks around, and then heads back towards the house, her shoulders slightly slumped with grief::
* Lisl tugs lightly on Gloss's arm with a grin, and follows the newly-married couple and the rest of the wedding party.
<Raven> ::smiles broadly at the couple as they pass, then slips from her chair to detain Kristo as he passes, kissing him wordlessly on the cheek before slipping away, back to the Blessed Mother's house and temple::
* Loria follows Kevil, her eyes shining. She barely looks away from him to make conversation with the people who come up to congratulate her.
* Temire smiles at Tyl, "I think I'll let the crowd thin before I give them my congratulations."
<Tyl> ::looks around at the people:: I don't know... we might be here all day. ::grins::
* Temire chuckles, "Did you have somewhere you needed to rush off to?"
<Tyl> ::laughs:: Not just yet. Avoiding my desk has been high on my list of priorities recently.
<Zoya> * Kristo grips Kevil's hand tightly, then bends to kiss his sister's cheek. He hesitates, choosing his words carefully. "I'm glad you're happy, Loria." Tension around his eyes underscores the curse still wrapped around his soul. "I... can't stay for the celebration, but I'll drink to you all the same."
<Vallel> ::rather determinedly elbows his way over to his sister and her husband, using his wounded arm as a shield when he has to::
* Loria looks up at Kristo, her eyes glimmering with unshed tears. "Thank you, Kris. Take care of yourself."
* Temire chuckles, "Lots of paperwork?"
* Lisl watches and listens, frowning faintly but making no comment.
<Kristo> ::nods, his own eyes bright, then turns, his broad shoulders slumping slightly as he returns to his protective isolation.::
<Tyl> ::laughing:: Only slightly less than more than I can handle.
* Kevil takes a breath, watching Kristo leave. "Your brother is a brave man, n'shava... And he loves you a great deal, to risk so much..."
* Loria tightens her hand on Kevil's shoulder for a moment, watching her brother go. "Blessed Mother, look after him, please."
* Temire chuckles, "You could always ask Val to clean your office for you."
<Tyl> ::grins:: That might be a bit drastic. And who knows that he'd stop with the office. I had enough grief when Bai almost burned my *house* down.
* Lisl chews her lip, watching Kristo leave, muttering softly under her breath. "Dammit, Nach, what *is* going on here?"
* Glossaria intercepts Vallel as he makes his way to the bride and groom and pulls him close on his good arm to kiss him thoroughly, her cheeks still damp with tears.
<Vallel> ::gives his wife his attention for a kiss, then drags her along behind him to Loria's side:: Lori?
* Kevil turns to greet Vallel as he shoves his way toward them, shaking off at least for the time being the melancholy of the circumstances to grin broadly at his new brother.
* Glossaria smiles cheerfully at Kevil. "Foster uncle and brother-in-law both, Kevil!"
<Vallel> ::taking his sister into his arms:: Congratulations.
* Loria turns, releasing Kevil to fiercely embrace her dearest sibling. She rests her cheek against his, her eyes filling with tears. "Thank you, Vallie... "
* Temire shakes her head, "I still have trouble believing that."
<Tyl> ::raises an eyebrow:: Trouble believing what?
<Kevil> ::grins at Glossaria:: Indeed, sweet angel. Who would have guessed? ::he leans to kiss her cheek::
<Temire> That Bai nearly burned your house down...That sounds like something I would do.
<Glossaria> ::kisses Kevil's cheek in return, hugging him with enthusiasm. "Congratulations, and best wishes on a happy and fertile marriage!"
<Vallel> ::turning to Kevil:: Take care of her, Kevil.
<Glossaria> ::releasing Kevil and leaning over to hug Loria joyfully:: So-- twice related! Do you prefer "sister" or "aunt"?
* Loria laughs, kissing Gloss's cheek. "Sister. I've gotten used to it."
<Glossaria> ::nods:: I'll make note of the preference. ::smiles::
<Kevil> ::smiles at Vallel easily:: I intend to.
* Zoya hangs near the edge of the crowd, watching with amused patience.
<Tyl> ::shaking her head:: It didn't happen quite like that, but he's not an easy man to tease, so I have to make the most of the few opportunities I have.
* Lisl fights her way free of the crush to come stand next to Zoya, watching the village encircle the new couple.
* Zoya grins at Lisl. "It would've been worth one of my teleports."
* Temire chuckles, "I can't imagine teasing him about anything. Have you ever seen that man smile?"
<Tyl> ::thinks:: Um... once, maybe. Not sure. But everyone deserves to be teased once in a while, just so the... ::she looks at Temire and censors herself:: Just so they relax, a little.
<Lisl> Mmmm... ::looks at Zoya sidelong:: Maybe. I prefer Tyl's way, myself. I spend enough effort *getting* my food.
<Zoya> ::grins, her eye on her apprentice's bright green hair:: You have no sense of adventure.
* Temire looks curiously at Tyl, "What?"
* Loria reaches up to her hair, pulling out one small pink rose from the crown encircling her hair and absently tucks it into Kevil's sash along with his other rose.
<Lisl> ::snorts:: I don't have to. It keeps scenting *me* out.
* Kevil looks at Loria with a wide smile, then pulls one of the roses from his lapel to tuck gently into her hair. "There." He kisses her again.
<Tyl> ::laughs merrily:: Never mind dear. I was about to be crude and crass in front of one of my students, which would be a very bad example to set. ::she pats Temire on the shoulder fondly::
* Lisl glances uneasily in the direction of Kristo's exit. "Except now. Gods, I've had to bite my tongue three times already... I *don't* want to know. If I know, it'll only make me crazier..."
* Zoya follows Lisl's glance, then nods. "We're better off staying out of it, this time."
<Vallel> ::squirming back out through the crowd, he fetches his lute, and with an annoyed expression, rests it on his legs. He holds his hand over the strings, closing his eyes to summon his psionics, and begins to play, using one hand to press the chords and his mental ability to pluck the strings::
<Lisl> ::tone faintly bitter, her voice soft:: I have no choice.
* Temire chuckles then looks around, "Well would it be a bad example to teach one of your students a few skills she needs improvement in? Not now obviously."
* Glossaria smiles fondly, coming to stand behind Vallel's chair and resting her hand on his shoulder.
<Tyl> ::laughs:: Maybe later. ::eyes Temire::
<Zoya> ::puts a hand on Lisl's shoulder:: Me, either... We won't stay too much longer, I promise.
<Tyl> ::getting up:: I'm going to make my congrats. You coming?
* Temire rises and smiles, "Sure."
<Tyl> ::looking at the crowd with impatience, she uses a bit of judicious mental shoving to make her way through, Temire following in her wake::
* Lisl nods. "I just want to be happy for them... but if I stay much longer..." She shakes her head and steps forward, easing her way through the crowd again towards the couple.
* Zoya nods and follows Lisl.
<Tyl> ::grins:: Kevil!
* Temire smiles, "Loria!"
* Loria grins over at Temire. "Mira!" She moves to embrace the younger girl. "I'm glad you could come. We couldn't *find* you earlier, and..." She bites her lip.
* Kevil beams. "Ah, Lady! That your glorious eyes might shine upon us as we spoke our vows is but the final blessing I might have wished!" He takes her hand and bows over it with exaggerated gallantry.
* Lisl picks up the mood of the crowd, grinning again by the time she reaches the center of the Gordian knot of people.
<Tyl> ::snorts:: Flatterer.
<Lisl> Kevil! Ten minutes married and you're *already* flirting with other women?
* Temire nods her smile fading before hugging Loria again, "Congratulations. We'll get caught up later. Though I'm afraid you're going to have to suffer my presence during the honey moon."
<Kevil> ::grins and pulls Tyl into a hug:: I am glad to see you well, Lady, in truth.
<Kevil> ::he laughs at Lisl's sally:: And you are in line to be next, I see, Lisl!
<Lisl> Well, if you *want* me to leave...
<Tyl> ::grinning up at him:: Gods, you people are tall. I miss Jaret. A reasonable sized human being. ::laughs:: In truth, I'm glad to be well, although, personally, I'd have picked a less painful way to do it.
* Loria nods to Temire. "I'm glad, I really am. We need all the help we can get, I'm afraid." Her eyes move back towards Nacheyla's house, frowning slightly.
<Kevil> ::rounds his eyes at Tyl:: Lord Malkier? Reasonable sized? But he is a giant among men, truly, a figure larger than life! ::he grins::
* Lisl glances towards Loria before carefully looking away again, fixing her attention on Kevil.
* Temire waves a finger in Loria's face and smiles at her, "Absolutely no thinking about anything but your groom and how happy you are until at least sunrise."
<Lisl> Ha! In attitude, maybe... don't let him catch you making fun of his height.
<Kevil> ::grins as he pulls Lisl closer to hug her warmly:: Thank you for coming, Lisl, my friend.
<Tyl> ::grinning at Lisl:: Yes, but I *like* men who aren't imitating trees.
<Lisl> Are you kidding? I wouldn't have missed it. Well, unless Zoya'd been five minutes later, knocking at my door. ::shakes her head:: You'd think a Master Bard would have learned a thing or two about timing!
<Loria> ::gives Tyl a warm hug:: I never got to thank you, for saving Kevil's life.
* Lisl hugs him back, careful not to squish too hard.
<Kevil> ::looks slightly offended:: Blame *Loria* for the timing, not I!
<Tyl> ::colors briefly, returning Loria's hug:: Least I could do, for letting him get into that mess in the first place.
* Temire hugs Kevil, "Congratulations."
<Kevil> ::smiles to return Temire's hug:: Thank you. I understand you will be travelling with us, d'va?
<Lisl> ::releasing Kevil and going to stand in line for Loria:: Hey now, Tyl, I thought we'd settled that whole blame thing.
* Kevil glances over at Tyl and Lisl and with as much wisdom as he can summon, keeps his mouth shut.
* Temire nods, "Sorry for being late. I had to make certain Ilya didn't drown on the trip to visit her mother."
<Tyl> ::grins:: Sure, but I thought I'd take my turn getting nailed to the cross, for a change. Only fair. You owe me a few anyway.
<Lisl> ::laughs:: Fair enough.
<Kevil> ::nods to Temire:: You are with us now - and for what is certain to be the most dangerous leg. Your skill will be welcome.
* Temire makes a face, "I don't know if I'd call it skill or simply providing another moving target." Shakes her head. "But we're not talking about that right now. I declare that until sunrise we not think about this at all and simply enjoy the festivities." Puts on a mock commanding expression.
<Lisl> ::grits her teeth for a moment, before relaxing her mouth back into a smile again as she steps up to hug Loria:: Congratulations, Mistress Talarin. ::grins::
* Loria jumps in surprise, then realizes who Lisl is addressing. "Oh!"
* Kevil looks highly amused at this appellation.
<Lisl> ::grins at Kevil:: Oh, hush, you had your turn with the name.
<Kevil> ::snorts, grinning:: As local custom demands... But it still sounds odd to my ears.
* Zoya carefully touches Kevil's rose in Loria's hair with one long fingertip, then leans down to hug Loria, kissing her cheek and smiling warmly. "Erdian's blessing upon you, as well as Hers."
<Loria> ::nodding up to Zoya:: Thank you, High Priestess... for everything.
<Zoya> ::smiles and nods:: Take care of him, please.
<Loria> ::tucking her arm in Kevil's:: I'll do my best.
* Zoya turns to Kevil. She hugs him tight and kisses him very briefly on the lips. "Kevil, n'shava, congratulations." Her smile widens. "I have a very special gift for you." She glances over at Loria, grinning. "When you are returned to Marsember, come and see me at the Tower."
<Kevil> ::looks amusedly suspicious, then nods:: Va, Zoya. As soon as we may.
* Loria nods. "I hope it will be very soon."
<Lisl> Soon as you can, Loria. But no rushing on our account. ::hugs her again::
<Loria> ::shaking her head:: No worries on *that* score.
<Tyl> ::edges away from the crowd and goes over to talk to Vallel in a soft voice, resting her hand on his shoulder fondly::
* Lisl nods, stepping back again with a bit more of a smile. "We'll hold the *real* party for your return."
* Zoya nods, then puts her hand on Lisl's shoulder. "I want a word with Glossaria, and then we can go."
<Lisl> ::turns her head to nod at Zoya::
<Zoya> ::crossing to Glossaria, she smiles worriedly at her apprentice:: How are things going?
* Temire looks at Lisl and Zoya, "Oh, I wanted to talk to Tyl. Just a moment." Works her way towards Tyl and Vallel, staying politely out of ear shot.
* Loria pulls Lisl into a fierce embrace. "So, still planning on tearing his arms off, Lisl?"
* Glossaria smiles back at Zoya, stepping back from Tyl and Val to give her Mistress a hug. "I've been in a real battle, and we've slept out-of-doors, which is far more uncomfortable than Volo makes it out to be but rather invigorating as well."
<Tyl> ::gives Vallel a brief kiss on the cheek before turning to Temire:: Yes, Temire?
<Lisl> ::hugs Loria back again, eyeing Kevil speculatively:: I don't think he's broken your heart yet... far from it, I'd say. ::smiles at Loria:: Do you *want* me to tear his arms off?
<Zoya> ::laughs as she returns Glossaria's hug:: The Tower seems almost empty without you and Vallel there. ::she looks at Glossaria fondly:: Both of you come home safe. That's an order.
<Kevil> ::grins at Lisl and snorts::
<Vallel> ::grins up at Zoya:: It's on my to-do list. Give the Tower my sincerest affection.
* Temire hugs Tyl, "It's good to see you again. Hopefully we can catch up when I get back." Lets Tyl go to look at her sheepishly. "Do you think you could tell Roni what's going on? I kind of found out about Tarri getting kidnapped and all this morning and then Lisl came with news about the wedding before I had a chance to tell him or even write a note."
<Zoya> ::grins at Vallel and leans over to hug him as well, careful of his injured arm:: I will.
<Glossaria> ::nodding:: We'll make our best attempt, Mistress. ::lowering her voice a little:: We found the Book of the Black Hand. It's been quite... difficult to translate. And it's called to Vallel once already... that's how he broke his arm. And the references to the Brides... Mistress, Tomas might be able to bring Bane back. In the flesh.
<Tyl> ::gives Temire a long, serious look:: I'll tell him. ::she reaches into her dress, pulling out a small silver ring from a pocket whose location is best left unknown.:: Here. Wear it. Be safe. Come home.
<Zoya> ::looks at Glossaria seriously:: You're- No, of course you're not joking. ::she nods decisively:: I'll pass the word among our allies in other temples.
<Glossaria> Thank you, Mistress.
* Temire takes the ring and hugs Tyl again, "I will." Lets Tyl go. "After all, Jaret still owes me lessons, I want lessons from you, and I doubt that even death would keep me from the reprimand I'm sure Bluestar's preparing for me."
* Tyl laughs. "Oh, probably not. I have a nice unfurnished corner of my room that could use an endtable, though, so it's not a total loss."
* Temire chuckles and makes an appropriately worried expression.
* Loria grins at Lisl. "Well, not today at any rate." She hugs Lisl again. "Thank you."
* Zoya nods to Glossaria. "We have to go. I don't dare let Lisl stand here much longer or she'll explode with curiosity and find *some* way to make it all her fault." She grins. "Take care of yourself."
<Lisl> Thank you for asking me, Loria. It was an honor to stand up for you. ::kisses her forehead::
<Glossaria> ::shakes her head:: That's Vallel's task. Mine is to take care of *him.*
<Vallel> ::pauses just a minute in his playing to make a face at his wife:: Thanks awfully.
<Glossaria> ::cocks her head, after a short pause, looking worried:: *Is* it possible to explode from curiosity?
<Zoya> ::laughs:: I don't know, Glossaria. Maybe you should research it when you get home... ::she turns around:: Lisl? Come on, we should go.
<Loria> ::wiping her eyes:: It was an honor to be able to stand, Lisl... and to have such love... ::she beams a smile at Kevil:: Hard to believe it's been less than a year.
* Kevil leans down to kiss Loria's forehead. "And many years left before us, if the gods are kind."
<Lisl> Shh... no tears. It's a happy day... you're safely married, and Nach had a boy. ::half-turning:: Be right there, Zoya.
* Tyl gives Temire another quick hug, then turns to Vallel. "If you two let yourselves get hurt... I'm going to take it as bad teaching on my part. So you'd better be careful." She turns, without looking at them again, heading for the teleport spot.
* Temire smiles watching Tyl go, "It's good to have her back."
* Zoya looks at Temire with a faint smile. "Be careful."
<Loria> ::softly:: I know... round about midnight. I... we know. ::she looks slightly awed::
* Temire nods, "I will."
<Lisl> ::raises her eyebrows, but shakes her head:: Tell me about it when you get back. I'm buying. ::grins:: That's what adventures are good for, after all. Never mind the saving the world part.
* Lisl gathers Loria and Kevil both into a quick embrace. "Stay safe. Both of you. Don't do anything I--" She stops, and shakes her head again with a grin. "Don't do anything too foolish."
* Tyl stands at the teleport spot, tapping her foot with barely disguised impatience and worry.
* Kevil laughs and returns Lisl's hug, kissing her cheek with brotherly affection. "Go. We will be well."
<Lisl> Coming, Tyl! Goodbye, you two. Good luck and goddess' speed. ::turns and sprints for the teleport point::
* Zoya grins and follows Lisl.
* Temire waves to the departing guests, then slips the ring Tyl gave her onto her finger.
* Loria looks up at her husband, her eyes bright with love. "I have all the luck I need, right here."
* Lisl waits with Tyl for Zoya to catch up, one fist clenching and unclenching as she looks back towards town, eyes yellow.
* Tyl looks after Vallel and Temire one last time. "Damn, it's hard to cut them loose." She closes her eyes, and they vanish with a faint pop of air.
* Kevil wraps his arms around Loria and kisses her, his heart in his eyes. "Nis shavalin, no man is so lucky as this. This is not luck - this is a miracle."
